[VANILLA] Crystal Creations never worked

What happens:

I try to create random jewelry, sim goes to table, glitch resets

When I open menus to cut gemstone or make jewelry, it appears empty

I bought Crystal Creations the day preorder began. I was super excited for this pack. I use mods and cc often so I was patient with it when it didn't work upon release. I thought there was some mod lurking I hadn't updated and that's why it wasn't working.

But I finally stopped avoiding it and set everything aside to fix it cause I really wanna use this pack!

What I tried:

Tried disabling pack, loading save, saving, enabling pack, testing = didn't work

Removed all mods and tested = didn't work

Deleted cache files = didn't work

Uninstalled (deleted S49) and reinstalled Crystal Creations = didn't work

Repaired my game = didn't work

Disabling mods and cc and script mods in options = didn't work

New save file = didn't work

The first lastexception_numbers generated as soon as I loaded up game with all the above already done. No mods. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xWD65KtnTL_lIntHZzThqkSQc4RsXLCH3pTDtCkdP6c/edit?usp=sharing

The second lastexception attatched generated when I tried to use the table. I don't know how to read these things but I'm starting to see it's not a mod issue. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PEpcRNTh6H90tJFTuRwW2z2FiF5XRvaA762gA1JJ6WE/edit?usp=sharing

Site won't let me attatch files so here are google docs actually.

Help plz... or at the very least is it too late to get a refund? .-.

    lol so

I did all of this and it didn't make much a difference. Probably good for my system though.

So I started thinking perhaps the problem solving has gone too far, too complex so what's something simple I haven't tried.

The issue wasn't in the pack or game files but in my ConfigOverride folder... I had a Default.ini file in there and I guess it causes problems having an old one in there when an update happens.

Let an entire new TS4 folder generate, added things back bit by bit, turns out it was ConfigOverride.

Thanks for all your help and ideas. Problem solved! The gems appear now and the table works.

Could you try deleting the gameversion.txt file and let the game create a new one by starting the game. See if that make a difference.

@BabyKitsch Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

@BabyKitsch  Your computer's graphics driver is somewhat old, and that section of the dxdiag is missing some info too.  Plus the dxdiag crashed while running.  So even though it's unlikely to cause your problems with Crystal Creations, it would be best to start with a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Next, download the newest-available driver from Nvidia:

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/230093/en-us/

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install.  Restart afterwards and before doing anything else.

For the Sims 4 issue itself, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to open Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.  That's fine for now and part of the purpose of this test.  Please let me know both whether the Crystal Creations content works and what game version you see in the .txt file and at the Main Menu.
