Getting a similar error while attempting to install Sims 4 (game time), and the download cache folders are empty, yet it is asking to install, rather than download. Why is there no file verification button in the game listings to handle these things? (unless of course it would remove mods added by the end user?)
Windows 10 * 64 bit is fully up to date.
Recent installs to Sims 3 EPs went without fail.
Command Prompt > SFC /scannow is not effective, but very time consuming.
You forgot to mention the default location for the Sims 4 folder, when you suggested to replace the VC++ Redist pack.
Found the main folder for the games, it was listed there, but inside had 4 folders, no game data, unlike Sims 3 or others - Hit delete to the folder, in attempts to kick the Origin Downloader into downloading Sims 4 again, but that was a mistake, it won't download it, thinks it's still downloaded, but is obviously a bad download from the start.
- I really want to try Sims 4 before my husband gets home, I have heard lots of bad things about it so far, but have enjoyed The Sims 2 and 3 a great deal, and love the concept of the easy building features in game. So rather than just taking other's words for it, try it myself with the free 48 hr game time. -
