@jupkmn I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue. It's purely cosmetic in that it has no effect on the game, but if you want to know why it's happening, this thread has an explanation.

@jpkarlsen thanks for the explanation of why my Game Version file is broken and what I can do to view it correctly. Can you pinpoint me to the bug post where it's been reported so that I can add a 'Me Too' as I can't seem to find it when I search? My main concern is not being able to view it, but that some of the Support Discord servers I use for my mods ask for a copy of your txt file to verify your game is up to date before they help you with any problems; I'm not sure they'll be set up to verify my txt file as it is.
@crinrict You might have already got a copy of the file from EeveeTinn, but I tried to upload mine here in case you hadn't and got an error message saying "The attachment's gameversion.txt content type (text/plain) does not match its file extension and has been removed", presumably because the content is now random symbols and not text (I tested with an unrelated text file and that attached ok). If you'd still like a copy of the broken Game Version file I can (try to!) DM it.
Happening with me too - had to download Notepad++ to see it. Fully updated Windows 11 user here also.
