"Welcome to the Neighborhood" Glitch *Persistent*

The event that occurs when sims come to welcome you into the neighborhood seems to be glitched for me, and I can't seem to figure out why. The "Invite Neighbor(s) in" interaction appears when the event starts, however my sims will not fulfill the action when selection. They will simply stand there, and then the action will disappear from the queue. This continuously occurs until the event ends (which causes a terrible first impression with my neighbors). I first encountered this glitch on my last laptop, and thought that it might be mod/cc related. However, that laptop ended up dying and I got a digital copy for the ps4 for free last month, and I noticed the glitch continued to consistently occur on the ps4 version, with no mods (not even sure if you can mod console) and no expansions. Most recently saved up for a new gaming desktop build, and even on this new computer, that can play the sims on the highest settings with no severe issues, this glitch still continues to occur all the time.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is this something that needs to be patched?

  • @pwrhngry432  I'm not seeing any Bug Reports, so we'll see if others see the issue here and comment.

I did just test in my game. When the welcome wagon arrived (wait until they reach the door and the welcome wagon timer starts in the top left corner of the screen like in this screenshot) I clicked on one of the first sims to arrive and there was an option "Invite Neighbor(s) In" with a door next to it. I chose that and my sim hadn't even greeted him yet and he went right in the house. The others gradually went in the house, some after being greeted and some did not wait to be greeted. The second time I tested on this lot they waited for the sim to come out and invite them, then they went in - one at a time. Please try that way and see if it helps. Also, make sure that you have the doors unlocked.

I do sometimes find sim stuck in chatting away or doing something else and ignoring a queue I give. If that were to happen I would try re-queueing the 'invite in' and exiting any chat or current thing they're doing in their queue.
