What is the size of the Sims 4 Game on the C Drive?

Can anyone tell me what the size of the Sims 4 game should be in the C drive if you either have all the expansion and stuff packs or the majority like myself?

The reason for asking is my game is showing over 50 GB in the C drive and yet in the Control Panel to uninstall is just over 20 GB which makes me think something is wrong.

There is no issue with the results for Sims 3 - both are the same.

At the moment my Sims 4 game is non responsive trying to load so I have had to disable the majority of expansion and stuff packs keeping only the kits to play the game.

I am considering uninstalling and reinstalling the Sims 4 Game again but don't want to do that if it ends up being exactly the same.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.🙂

  • @ladysimplayer8  The base game is a shade over 20 GB.  The full game with all packs is just over 60; I'm not sure exactly how much because I'm missing some smaller packs.

The Control Panel reporting only the size of the base game is nothing to worry about.  File Explorer will tell you exactly how much space a given folder takes, so trust that over a value you see elsewhere.

If you do uninstall the game to try to troubleshoot, I'd recommend a clean uninstall just to be thorough.  I don't think you need to do that at this point, but if you're going to uninstall, it doesn't take that much more time to do a clean sweep, and it'll save you needing to do it later if it comes to that.  Here's how:

Having said that, the first troubleshooting step here is to move the Sims 4 user folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  This will remove but not delete your saves and other user content.  Launch the game to create a clean folder with nothing in it, and see whether you can play.  If you can, the problem is in the folder you moved.  Otherwise, it's a game or (more likely) system issue, and in that case, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a reply here.
