Where do I put .rar files?

Hi I am still relatively new to the Sims 4. After I extract my .rar files to .package files, where do I place the .rar files? I saw someone say they put them in their tray folder, but isn't that just...

    @ericaaa3  Your .rar files can go in the trash once you've extracted them.  The extracted files are what matter, and Sims 4 can't even read .rar files.
