Why are deliveries destroying my game?!?

This is now the 3rd time in a row that my game has stopped working immediately after a stupid “delivery”. Something they claim will make my life easier is destroying my game. The households stop loading. It just loads FOREVER until I force quit the game. I spent DAYS troubleshooting the first time. Yes, starting with mods. Nothing worked. Finally just did a fresh install which fixed it. Until the next “delivery”. Here we go again. This time I didn’t wait long to reinstall. While moving my content back in this time I happened to notice that the game version from my old copy did not match the version of the fresh install. Today another dreaded delivery was forced onto me and as always, game stops working. First thing I did was check the game version. WRONG. I attempted to change the text file and see if that would fix it. Did not. Currently in the process of my 3rd fresh install. I’m done. I’m fed up. This is ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to reinstall the entire game after every stupid delivery. This needs to be fixed. I do not understand what’s happening to even begin trying to fix it. Patches work JUST FINE. Zero issues after a patch. It’s only the deliveries that do this. Here is the load screen I speak of that won’t go away and the game version I found today in the text document. My edit reverted when I ran the game again

    @jpkarlsen I already white listed everything sims related after the 2nd time it did this. I was hopeful but no luck. Still did it yesterday after the most recent delivery. It doesn’t happen after a patch. They download fine and the game works fine afterwards. Only deliveries are causing it. The second that delivery notification pops up prompting me to restart it’s game over despite everything working perfectly right up until the delivery appears. It’s happened immediately after the past 3 consecutive deliveries so I don’t think it’s probable that it’s a coincidence. I’m not sure how the game version document fits into the issue at this point. I just know that it’s wrong and that’s the only thing I’m noticing that’s out of the ordinary when this happens. I did attempt to manually change it last night but once I opened the game it reverted back to what it said before. Next time I’m just going to delete it and see if it regenerates with the correct data

    @NikkiXoLynn

    Only a patch updates gameversion.txt and as what you shoved in the screenshot was an older version than the current version which is 1.85.203.1030.

    You also wrote that changing the version number manually was reverted by the game which means that the latest patch has not been successfully applied. This again leads to problems with the SDX deliveries as they expect the latest patch to be installed. This points to that your antivirus is blocking necessary changes to the game. If you post what antivirus you use in the thread I linked to someone there can hopefully help you setting it up correctly. After that i recommend to again uninstall and then reinstall the game to see if it is fixed the next time there is a patch. One is expected in the near future.
