In that case you are not putting them in the folder the game uses.
Here is an easy way to find out which folder your game is using: https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/
me too. I accidently mixed up my mods files, sims 4 files and ea files and they are all copied. I tried to delete them and some deleted some didn't. I'm pretty sure my files are all organized now and I tried to download cc and it just didn't show up in the game.

could you post a screenshot of your mods folder (including the path) ? That's probably the easiest way to find out if they're in the right place.
my sims game says the dokument (name of cc). package can't be opened. the sims 4 cant open arkrves of this type
My cc is in my mods folder like it should be, but when I open the game, it doesn't show up. I have the button clicked to allow cc in-game and I have tried multiple times to download different things and reinstall my game but nothing works. What do I do?
me too, when i click on ''open'' a message pop up on my screen sayin ''this file does not have an app associatted to performed this action...'' i don't know what to do
@victooo_2 Don't open the file, that is if it's a .package file. Just put it inside your Mods folder, and the game will know what to do with it.
Custom content downloaded as a .zip file needs to be extracted before using, which you should be able to do by double-clicking. If the file comes in .rar or .7z format, you'll need a third-party tool such as 7-Zip (Windows) or Unarchiver (macOS).
