The more programs you install/uninstall the slower your computer gets. Regular maintenance is always a good thing but that doesn't have anything in particular to do with SIms 4.
Also it should not harm your computer.
Is this something you heard or why the concern ?
- Anonymous11 years agoWhat do you mean by install more?

If you install any program on your hard disc, your hard disc gets fuller. If you uninstall a program, they often leave traces behind or fragment your disc, which can also make your computer slower but as said, that has nothing to do with Sims 4 in particular.

I have a mac and wondering the same thing.
so as long as i don't have to much "stuff" on my computer the came will not effect its efficiency?

I'm wondering this too because I just got my new Macbook Air 13" and I'm afraid if I install it, that it's going to be very slow. I need this laptop for school and homework, but also when I get bored and I want to play Sims!
Anyone answer please 🤔

In computers anything is possible. Will the game harm your computer? In general no. If your computer is properly cooled there should be no reason to worry. If the cooling vents are blocked then it is possible any program could harm the computer by overheating. Will the game slow the computer down? Again in general no. If the hardware meets or exceeds the minimum requires the game should run properly. Today's games tend to be large and consume a lot of disc space. Your computer requires free space for system use (temp files, etc) and when free space gets tight applications tend to reserve blocks of memory for themselves (shame on them). Insufficient free space will slow the computer down to a point it may crash.
