Windowed Mode and a Windowed Fullscreen mode issue

Hi Crin, I have two issues with game modes.

The first one is that on my laptop with a resolution of 1366x786, when I put the game into Windowed mode, no matter what other settings, it does this: http://oi62.tinypic.com/1zmchgk.jpg It compresses it down to 1366x720 is what it's saying and the blurriness/pixelatedness is the result. It is fine in Fullscreen. (It's a legit copy that works fine in Windowed mode on my desktop, not a pirated one with the pixel problem.)

The second issue is that I asked the Sim Guru's what the intended difference between Fullscreen & Windowed Fullscreen was supposed to be as they seemed the same to me. SimGuruGrant said "You can minimize the program in windowed full screen." But upon changing it to Windowed Fullscreen, there is no minimize option. It is the same as regular Fullscreen. I can confirm this for my desktop as well, and a friends desktop.

If you need any specs or more info, let me know.

Thank you.

  • So you're saying you put your game in windowed mode and try alll other settings to fix the bluriness but it didn't work ?

  • Yes, I spent over an hour fiddling with all the options. Tried it all in Low, Medium, High (Didnt try Very High, laptop isn't the best), tried it with Post Processing on and off, and Laptop mode on and off.

The only thing that fixed it was to just play it in Fullscreen or Windowed Fullscreen.

Also, it is only in Live Mode/Build Mode. It ran with no blur during Create a Sim. Forgot to add that before, sorry, it was quite late.

Computer specs if needed: Samsung RV520 laptop with Intel i3-2310M CPU, 2.10GHz, 4GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 3000. Only trying to play on Low/Medium settings with Laptop Mode and Vertical Sync on.

Might be more of a tech issue. I'll leave it here for now to see if more reports are coming in.

    Hi,

i've got a similar problem. All the image seems completely blurred. I tried different settings, but nothing change.

The frame with CAREERS, ABILITY, RELATIONSHIPS etc... looks fine.

Is it possible to attach some screenshot of my game? In order to let you know better what I see...

    Thanks!

You can upload pics to some picture sharing site and post the link

Did you try laptop mode/ the retexturing thing or whatever it's called ?

  • Mine is really blurry on fullscreen mode. I don't understand. My monitor is set to 1920x1080 and my game was set to that but I lowered it to 17 by something like the one before 1920 res option and in fullscreen it just gets really pixilated or blurry and the screen is bouncing. I don't understand what's going on but when I am in windowed mode, my picture is clear. My graphics card is fine.

When you open up sims, in the main menu, click the three dots in the top corner.

    Click "Game Options"

Then there should be a section called "display type" with a drop down menu.

Click the drop down menu and select "fullscreen".

Click apply changes and it should now be full screen with no pixelation.

    I hope this helps🙂

  • The problem with that is that I also have the same problem, and I don't want it on Fullscreen. I want to be able to see the close tab button, minimize button, and my sidebar filled with my apps that I downloaded. So is there no way for me to make it windowed, and still have great resolution.

I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

If you have any issues with Sims 4 please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
