Windows Compatibility Mode

Question

Windows compatibility mode has been driving me insane. I just purchased a new expansion pack and regretting the decision. I love the Sims and have been playing the SIms since the first game came out. Now I am so fed up with my game crashing. My Sims can no longer travel or the game crashes. I&nbsp;can't play&nbsp;with&nbsp;any ambition which may cause my Sim to go to another location. I used to be able to play the game for hours. Now with Sims 4 on Windows 10 none of the fixes are working. I can play at most 30 minutes if I am lucky and careful before the game crashes. I no longer want to play the Sims 4 game. I tried to play tonight and my Sim couldn't even get home. This Sim traveled while I was playing another family, and now when I try to play my single SIm and try to get her home the game crashes. I was able to play for about 5&nbsp; &nbsp;minutes tonight before it crashed. If something can not be done for WIndows 10 users soon I will stop buying the Sims and stick to reading for my entertainment. This makes me sad since I have been playing the Sims for years.

Windows 10....Most of the gamers stay away of that OS, as it has a lot of problems when it comes to gaming (Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, too). Unfortunately, with Microsoft pushing it , we are forced to install the damn thing.

Couple of things to try: update video drivers. AMD is notorious for 1 drivers works fine, 9 not so well, while Nvidia has a better ratio (6 out of 10 work as intended). So, depending on your video card, try a driver update. Had a similar problem with a different game and it turned out to be the video card driver. Make sure you run the game as an administrator (in compatibility mode). You could also try to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7. You could also try reinstall all the redistrbutables (directX, Visual C++ redist, whatever Sims 4 needs). You can usually find those in the game's folder.
