Writing songs is broken

Hello to all.

    I have a sim that I'm doing the music aspiration with. They are level nine in the piano skill, I have them write a song. It takes them over twelve hours to complete the song. Also, when I tell them to stop in order to get something to eat, or go to the bathroom, and ask them to resume writing the song they start at the beginning and not where they left off. This mostly happens when writing songs on the piano and violin. So, the only way to get them to finish writing the song is to make them sit there for twelve hours, while starving to death and listening to them play the same song over and over. Can this be fixed? Because this is not user error or a bad Window operating system. This obviously a problem with the programming. Maybe the programmers didn't think this through or an update has broken this aspiration?
