Glitchy The Sims 4 Basic version on Mac

I used to play the Sims 2 and wanted to try the Sims 4 so I installed the basic version.

I was thinking of buying extensions if I would like to play but... It crashed two times and I have lost a two days of progress. When it happened the first time, I was surprised because The Sims 2 has never been crashed. I noticed the issue is happening when my sim is going to another lot twice.

Btw, I hadn't played for two weeks and when I tried to open the Sims 4, it didn't open, and there was no error at all. I noticed that The EA app also didn't work like it used to and this was the issue. When I reinstalled The EA app, it forced me to update the game and only after that I was able to finally play.

Additionally, I want to mention that it's inappropriate to force me to update the app. Why I cannot just play and update it when I ready. It's annoying.
Looks like the Sims 4 is not worth buying...
