I know tutorials are dull, but you should probably do it the first time through. LOL I skipped it back in the day when I first played and had so many issues. This time I did the tutorial (because now I'm old and I recognize I should probably just read the directions now rather than get stuck later) and things have gone a lot more smoothly. It is definitely a really odd and sort of clunky control system (not as intuitive as TS4's) but you get used to it. Many rabbit holes. The two buttons that allow you to travel straight to your sim and view the town from a central vantage are definitely your friend. Edge scrolling being turned on helped me, but I know that's not for everyone. I'm excited to see your pictures when you get to play next.
The quests want you to follow specific steps, too. Skipping ahead doesn't work well in the game. LOL Think Elder Scrolls. When you do x, y, z the way the game wants, you don't usually run into bugs, but when you go catch butterflies, follow a stream, then sneak in the back door and kill the bad guy before taking out his lieutenants... the game has a heart attack. lol
Photobucket is down for maintenance right now, so no pictures. T_T
