I wonder, if Maxis are going to be implementing a more "open" design with respect to the towns and places a bit more than Sims 4; what kind of challenges they might be faced with. Already, I see with a modded lot to be quite taxing on hardware, makes the game stutter at times. I can just imagine with more Sims running around, more intractable objects, "more polygons" to be loaded in the same cell... I am one of those who went all out for The Sims. Bought everything. Played the hell out of it. Did the same for The Sims 2. I paid for The Sims 3, but no extra content and didn't really play The Sims during that time. I did get The Sims 4, didn't play it as much as 1 or 2, but more than 3. I purchased a bundle pack that had maybe two expansion packs, three game packs and 4 stuff packs. I had that for years until recently I plopped down money to buy the rest. I am really enjoying myself with The Sims 4, but I feel The Sims since 2 has been more iterative than innovative. If Maxis can release "The Sims 5" with more innovation than iteration, I would be quite pleased. graphical fidelity is just par for the course, and at this point should be an after thought when it comes to the next installment, especially for a game like The Sims. If the game looks like it released in 2010, but has the gameplay depth and mechanics of a decades worth of research and development, THAT would be a game to play.
Maybe my 41 year old brain is just becoming a cynical gamer ;)
Maybe I am turning into one of those "get off my lawn" old men in a rocking chair on a porch somewhere hehehehe
