I have no idea how it works in TS1-2 and 4 cuz I don't have those packs but in TS3 I mostly found it more like an annoyance than an actually engaging feature. Like, I appreciate some challenge that came with false accusations and whatnot but the whole "I'm not gonna speak with u cuz I'm famous" really went against my roleplay for certain characters. My very first 5 star sim Aaron (and my very first sim in TS3) being an exception because he has such a great charisma and whatnot that he pretty much befriends everyone by just saying "Hello" to them :D . That's completely in-character even if it's kind of funny.
