Installing the Sims 2 games from Origin
Hello!
I recently registered all of my sims games to my Origin account and have had varying success with installing them from there. So I wanted to make a topic to get help and to help anyone else with same problems.. I have noticed one way to succesfully install almost all Sims 2 games from origin. This has taken me many hours of re-installing and uninstalling the games AND cleaning out my registry files.

Here's the installation order for Sims 2 games IF INSTALLED FROM ORIGIN, which has worked for me:
1. The sims 2 basegame. If you have Sims 2 Double Deluxe, you can install it. Warning: installing Sims 2 Double Deluxe causes Sims 2 Pets have error: "UPDATE PROCESS DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY. INSTALLATION WILL NOW TERMINATE" during it's installation.
(2. Would be Sims 2 University, but it isn't available for digital download on it's own, thus it is University life collection. Now, a word of warning: for me University life collection didn't register unless I had Sims 2 Nighlife already installed.)
2. Sims 2 Nightlife, keep in Mind that if you have Sims 2 Double Deluxe, you already have it installed (Read the warning about Double Deluxe). NOTE: Nightlife isn't available for digital download on it's own, so this is the game I had installed from original retail CD.
(3. Sims 2 University life collection) WARNING: Installing the Sims 2 University Life Collection BEFORE Sims 2 Pets, Sims 2 Seasons, Sims 2 Bon Voyage and Sims 2 Freetime caused error: "UPDATE PROCESS DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY. INSTALLATION WILL NOW TERMINATE" during the installation of those games. DON'T INSTALL THIS YET!!!!.
(4. Christmas party pack or Holiday Party pack. I don't have origin versions of these. From my experience, you don't have to install these now, you can install them after you've installed everything else.)
(4. Open for Business, but it isn't available for digital download on it's own, so I have Best of Business Collection. WARNING: for me installing Best of Business before Sims 2 Pets and Sims 2 Season caused error during their installation: "UPDATE PROCESS DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY. INSTALLATION WILL NOW TERMINATE". DON'T INSTALL THIS YET EITHER!!!!!)
3. Sims 2 Pets. On my experience, this needed to be installed BEFORE Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff and Sims 2 Glamour lfie stuff, or it had the error: "UPDATE PROCESS DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY. INSTALLATION WILL NOW TERMINATE" during it's installation.
(4. Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff.)
(5. Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff.) I installed these between Pets and Seasons, as per EA😕 official install instructions and installing order.
4. Sims 2 Seasons. Note: if you try to install Celebration Stuff after Seasons as it is in official installation order, it tries to update Sims 2 Pets and terminates installation.
5. Sims 2 Best of Business Collection.
6. Sims 2 Bon Voyage.
7. Sims 2 Freetime.
8. Sims 2 University Life Collection.
9. Sims 2 Apartment Life.
10. IMPORTANT: You can now Install all stuff packs that came BEFORE Mansion and Garden stuff and which haven't been Installed yet with any collections. This may include: Sims 2 Family Fun stuff, Sims 2 Glamour life stuff and Sims 2 Celebration stuff. Also Happy Holiday stuffpack in CD/DVD form.
11. Sims 2 Mansion and Garden stuff.
GONRATULATIONS!!! You have now succesfully installed almost every The Sims 2 expansions and stuffpacks digitally, with EA Origin application. Yay!
Only exceptions to this are Sims 2 Nightlife and Happy holiday stuff, which needs to be installed from CD/DVD.
