Loading screen gets stuck while travelling to a community lot

Hello I have a question about the sims 2 Ultimate Collection. When I travel to one of my community lots, the loading screen will get stuck. I think the wall speakers are the problem because after I placed them, my game would get stuck while playing on this lot. When I used the cheat BoolProp TestingCheatsEnabled true I would get an error message for the wall speakers. After deleting them the game worked perfectly fine. I placed them again and now I can’t change it anymore because the loading screen gets stuck. A few days ago I downloaded a few songs for in the game. Could the problem be custom music?

  • @Vanallesennogwat The first thing you should try is removing the custom music and testing if the lot loads. If you have other mods/CC, you should also back up your neighborhood, remove those mods as well, and test without them. You don't have to delete them, just get them out of the game folders so the game loads without them.
  • @VanallesennogwatCustom music shouldn’t be an issue. Make sure the song files are in the MP3 format otherwise the game can’t read them. Same for song files bought on iTunes.

    ***Edit***

Have you deleted your Accessory.cache and Group.cache files before you start playing? These could also be causing the loading screens to freeze.

I found this thread on the Official Forums that mentions some other solutions to try to see if one of these may be causing your loading screen freezes. https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/886574/the-sims-2-ultimate-collection-stuck-at-loading-screen

  • When I delete the songs I downloaded everything works perfectly fine, so this should be the problem thank you! Is there a reason why the downloaded songs cause a problem?

@Vanallesennogwat According to The Sims Wiki, custom music has to be an mp3 file with a bitrate of 320kbit/s or less, or a wav file with 1411kbit/s bitrate or less. It also has to be placed into a folder for an existing station in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Music\.

I'm guessing that if it does not meet those guidelines, it wouldn't work or might cause issues such as an infinite loading screen if there is a radio on the lot.
