missing string wants and fears

hi , im new here so sorry if this makes no sense at all:

i was given the sims 2 ultimate collection with the purchase of one game? i downloaded it via origin, was really happy with it, until one day, the writing above the sims need (hunger environment etc.) just disappeared and their wants and needs came up as (say it were the want to have a party) "'### missing string for Have a Party".

when i looked it up i saw that it could be custom content that i have none of, or cheats/hacks interfering. i have only used a couple, classic money hacks (motherlode) and the hack to control pets so that you can get them to do stuf??

anyway i contacted ea again and went through long process of uninstall and reinstall but i was only uninstalling and reinstalling the same game. will contact them when i can to get a new version and have a full re-try. any ideas/??

    @nancyholroyd Could you please take out all mods and custom content and then check if the same issue occurs? Also could you check if the same thing happens with a new save?

    Hey @nancyholroyd,

    You will only have custom content if you installed it.

    To uninstall your custom content you just need to remove it from the folders you installed it in, usually:

    • Documents \ EA Games \ The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection \ Downloads
      and/or
    • C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Fun with Pets/SP9/...

    Yeah I've checked, I definitely don't have any downloaded content and I still have the problem!

    Your game might be missing a/the file/s containing the code for this to work. If this is through Origin, try repairing the game. If you're playing from disc, try re-installing the base game.
