Re: the sims2 for Intel HD Graphics 520

Hi @idinen646,

Let's try to find the problem. Could you please take a screenshot of the error message and share it with us? When are you getting this error?

Also, could you give us more technical information about your computer? A dxdiag would be very helpful. You can find instructions on how to get a dxdiag here, and you can attach it to your answer.

Thanks 🙂

Mai

    Hi @EA_Mai!

My message is in finnish but it's something like "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I get this error message when I try to start the game. I tried to use this game with compatibility mode, but I still got the same message.

I have HP laptop with Windows 10. Processor is Intel Core i5-6200U, and my graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 520. If you need more information about my laptop, I try to get that dxdiag for you when I'm back home.

    Thank you. 🙂

    Hi @idinen646,

You should check you have the latest Windows 10 compatible drivers for your graphics card installed. If you are not sure, then yes, I would need your dxdiag 😉 You could also try to make sure DirectX is installed correctly by reinstalling it.

If that doesn't help, are you trying to install The Sims 2 through Origin or a DVD?

    Hi @EA_Mai!

I reinstalled that DirectX but I still got that same error.

I installed the game from PC cd-rom.

What do you want to know from that dxdiag (mine is in finnish)?

It says that I have directX 12.

I attach print screens from my dxdiag here anyway.

Thanks @idinen646. I wanted to check mainly the version of Windows and the date of your graphics drivers.

As you installed your game using your CD, I recommend you to get in contact with one of our advisers through EA Help. They might be able to turn your physical copy of the game into digital, which could help fix this issue 🙂

You will find a detailed explanation on how to contact them if you need it here.

If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask 🙂

    Hi @EA_Mai!

I chatted with EA support. I downloaded that game from origin (support gave me that game).

I tried to start that digital version with compatibility mode (and I had clean booted my computer before that)

but I still got that same error. Is there anything else I could try?

    Thank you!
