Saw mills, Nordic names, lakes... Moonwood Mills is Minnesota inspired. ;)
Yes. Minnesota has the largest Norwegian population outside of Norway. The King and Queen of Norway have even visited Duluth a number of times. - EmmaVane4 years agoSeasoned Ace

The Hundred Years' War was a series of armed conflicts between the kingdoms of England and France during the Late Middle Ages. It originated from disputed claims to the French throne between the English royal House of Plantagenet and the French royal House of Valois.

So it could be hinting at some sort of conflict between rival groups.
Hmm... English and French are also the official languages of Canada. Canadian world has already been theorised based on the forest and mill theme. - dlwoody644 years agoSeasoned Hotshot

While the clues do fit, I was half joking about the Minnesota thing, because I think it would be hilarious to have werewolves with an Upper Midwest accent (think the movie "Fargo"... or any relatives you may have in Wisconsin or Minnesota...)
Swiss Alps (though the "Alps" thing was just part of the Skip Code in Doi's tweet) or Scandinavian or Canadian would all be cool with me too.
I live in Minnesota and while it is a heavy accent nobody actually sounds like the actors in "Fargo". It would be hilarious though! - telemwill4 years agoSeasoned AceI found this on a website about wolves. You can look up where they are around the world. They tend to be mostly in Alaska, Canada, and other northern climates. But there was this about Switzerland:
"Just over 100 years ago the last wolf in Switzerland was killed after an extensive, and mercilessly successful, campaign to eradicate them across Central Europe. This campaign was based on a common belief that the wolf is a bloodthirsty killer that poses a threat to man and their livestock. Between the 1930s and 1960s, the population in the Alps shrunk to its lowest point where only a few isolated populations survived.
“But just over twenty years ago in 1995, a single male wolf wandered across the Swiss-Italian border into the canton of Valais. One year later it is said to have been hunted and killed.
“Under the protection of the law, which marks the wolf as a protected species and allows them to be killed only with permission of the state, the wolf has been able to gain ground and establish a presence. More wolves began to return over the following years and the first pack in over a century and a half was recorded in 2012 near Chur. A second pack was recorded in Ticino three years later. Today there are said to be between 30-35 wolves in Switzerland.” - The more they hint the more it makes me think that they are putting together a great backstory.
Not that we didn't have any in The Sims 4 (like the mistery of Strangerville and Princess Cordelia), but this seems "more".
I cannot stop thinking about the Twilight saga neither.
We have vampires but those hints goes by far from the well know vampire-werewolves rivalry.
And Stonhenge. - VWoodsong4 years agoSeasoned Ace

Hmmm. Maybe we'll finally find out what happened to the Magic Realm. Maybe it was the Mooncasters who broke it. Maybe they were practioners of forbidden magic. And maybe werewolves were a byproduct of the resulting cataclysm when the Mooncasters pushed too hard against the boundaries of possibility. :hushed:
What if werewolves weren't the byproduct of the breaking of the Magic Realm, but the event that broke it. Maybe the Century Conflict was a war between traditional werewolves and werewolves that came into being by magic. Or is the Century Conflict between good and evil magic?
All equally possible and interesting theories, I'd say. Although, I'd prefer not to see "good and evil" defined, but rather some euphemistic form of "the possible" and "the forbidden" in terms of magic and occult powers, etc. I don't know if that's very possible in a game that's fairly cartoony in the first place, but I likes me some subtlety (and less either/or) whenever I can get it. :yum: - SheriSim4 years agoSeasoned AcePeople are talking about shape shifters. I wonder if we could be getting werebeings rather than werewolves. Since they changed cats and dogs slightly, maybe there will be werewolves and were cats? And then someone else mentioned Bears, but bears are bigger than dogs, could they be adding a larger animal as well? Interesting thread. I guess we will know soon exactly what the pack will end up being. I hope they don’t nerf a medieval pack by trying to turn this pack into that as well. But, I guess we will soon see.

You bring up a good point, not using the traditional good and evil tags. I like your terms and some ambiguity. I had a discussion on the what world thread where the idea of wild werewolves who embrace their nature and ones that were turned against their will and fight to regain their humanity. It's intriguing, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how that could logically span a century.- Good morning fellow sleuths! ? Hopefully more will be revealed today.

Hold up okay so I don't know much (don't play dnd) but Moonwood comes up as some place in DnD that is in "Forgotten Realm" and its also called "Glimmerwood" ???
and theres elves and lycanthropes???
I do wonder if they are doing both fairies and werewolves
Didn't Supernatural give us fairies andwerewolveshairy humans for TS3? Lightning does have a way of striking twice in the Sims world.
Supernatural in sims 3 did give several occult lifestates but that was an expansion pack. While I would love to have both fairies and werewolves, I am concerned about the quality and depth of them if both are squeezed in one GP.
I hope we can get a trailer later today.
The idea of werewolves being involved in breaking the magic realm is interesting. But I don't want werewolves to be all evil or enemies with the other occults. I am curious to find out more though.
