When they say "fall" when do you think that could be? Maybe September at the earliest? Or perhaps that is being too optimistic... Before November though, surely?
I’d say in a patch before a possible November EP comes out. - SthenastiaNew SpectatorOh... Realy? Why always the community is divided to black and white? We are all the one community and we all have same goals. Please stop doing this because we will not gain next improvements (everywhere) if we will still concentrate to our real skin color. I have not choosen to be white and be european (Polish) also you have no choosen your skin and nationality but we can choose how our community looks like and I think that it is amazing that we are all (no metter from we are and no metter how we looks like) fighting together and we stand as one.
Edit: Jordan. You are right, but it is time to bury the inequalities. I know taht racism is the real problem which is also known in Europe but we will not do anything if we will still dividing ourselves. We as a European really know how racism and divided community are bad. We still have a symbols of communism and fascism in our continent. Thats why the most of us are trying to build one, equal community without any (racial, nation, sexual etc) discrimination. Probably our system is different that in US because in europe all countries have some form of social care. - SthenastiaNew SpectatorIn summary, lets do something as one Simcommunity and lets fight for the improvements. I will also help another nations to get the representatnion if needed too.
- Hey there folks!
I just had to remove some comments because they weren't very nice (even against the forum rules) and actually steered away from the actual topic of this thread.
I know this is a very sensitive topic and that we all feel very strongly about it which is why I'd like us to continue having this conversation because it is a very important one to have.
So, I'm asking you to please keep the discussion here civil and on the actual topic as well as that we are all kind and respectful towards one another.
Thank you!

I agree it’s not likely, especially given the team’s track record. I just think it shows that a color wheel is probably the optimal way of handling the situation.
They should have never removed it as a feature to begin with, especially in regards to eyes/skin/hair colors.
The color wheel was awful. I don't know why everyone is screaming for it back. "Jordan061102;c-17614120" wrote:
Really, I can't stop laughing. They put on a show, it's just performative. They've had 6 years to prove us they care about representing black people but they didn't, they're just doing it now because it's trendy to be seen as ''woke'' and care about black people, but in 1 year we'll go back from the start point. Once again society doesn't care about black people and neither The Sims. I honestly don't think they have more than 5 black people working on The Sims, this simple fact is very telling.
Totally agree. The only reason they decided to make changes was because of social media pressure, not from any genuine feeling of remorse. They've been touting "representation" for years and didn't even think of fixing the skin tones. I don't feel inclined to congratulate EA or Maxis at all. It's all just PR unfortunately.
And for all the other things people want in the game, whether it be more hairstyles, better babies, better sim personalities, I doubt they'll even bother putting them in the game. Not unless you want to do a hashtag campaign for it.
People shouldn't have to create hashtag campaigns to cause changes in the game. The team should have been listening long before. This also goes for lots of other things people want in the game, such as babies, better personalities, actually interesting gameplay.
I'm happy that The Sims 4 will get better skin tones and hair textures, but I think their whole system of getting feedback on the game is extremely flawed if it took this long! They need to do a lot better listening to their community!
Im really not sure how a color wheel is awful. Whats awful is being stuck with a few swatches when you actually want to personalize your sims homes to YOUR liking or want to express any sort of creativity. What if I want my sims house to be a certain, exact shade of Orange? or just the right shade of deep, forest green? I CAN'T because of this limited game engine."Sim_Architects;c-17614577" wrote:

Was probably awful for you. But seriously helpful to A LOT of people.

Agreed. I mean, who wouldn’t want an almost infinite spectrum of options? And who would want a few extra curated swatches that will never satisfy everyone and continue to limit the game to an extremely narrow set of options for genetic results?- Fluteline24New Spectator

It was slow and confusing to navigate. That's why I hated it. No need to be rude. - CAPTAIN_NXR7Seasoned VeteranMost imaging software has a color wheel and swatch presets which you can customize.
I think a combination of these could also work in a Sims Creator. That way, both wheel AND swatch folks will be satisfied.
It all comes down to the UI design to make it a user friendly experience.
