In a perfect scenario toddlers and children should get the unnatural hair colors as well so my pink haired mermaid can pass on her hair colour to her children. In a game where unnatural skin tones are genetic, hairs should be as well. But I don't think we will be that lucky. Besides an update for the realistic choices are more needed.
Pink hair isn’t genetic? I had a pink-haired human Sim father pink-haired twins. Was it just weird luck? I had to decide whether or not to keep it that way, since the father’s hair was just dyed.
If you create create teens directly in CAS with the DNA tool they can inherit unnatural colours. But if you have a baby born ingame, once that baby ages up to a toddler it will get a traditional hair colour because Maxis never created all colours for all ages.
Actually if you have a baby born in game it can inherit unnatural hair colours. It will get a random hair colour as a toddler but so long as you do not edit the kid in CAS (that includes changing its clothes etc) ever before it is a teen when it becomes a teen its hair will automatically turn the unnatural colour. I know this from my 100 baby challenge. Vlad was my patriarch and when a kid inherited his grey hair it would get a random colour as a toddler and as a child - if I took it into CAS before its teen birthday it would keep the random hair colour as a teen. But, I mostly didn't bother giving the kids makeovers until they were YAs and so I didn't take any of the toddlers or kids into CAS. So, their hair automatically turned grey when they became teens.
Thanks for sharing. It is interesting to know. Until now I have always edited their hair colour because I could see no link. although for me personally it is still a disappointment that it is not showing at a young age. - DaraviNew TravelerHonestly skintones and haircolours were on my priority list which to address first very low ranked and I wish they would adress the real gamebreaking bugs and don't open a new construction site. My hair color and skin tone (pale and ashblond, which getting gray very slowly) isn't represented aswell but I don't care about it, because I don't play myself. But I fear with this new priority the gamebreaking bugs will stay much longer than usual.
Anyway congrats to those who have fought for it. - ChadSims2Seasoned Novice

I don't think people should be expecting new hair colors. If you watch the video again, you'll see that Lyndsay specifically addressed skin tones and hair styles.
She then went on to say that skin tones would be addressed in the fall, both current and new ones. This does not include hair, from my understanding of the video.
Which is pretty sad their "inclusiveness" seems to be only targeting one group of people completely ignoring others and it will forever remain that way because no one makes noise for anyone else. They are the ones who decided to create this game without a color wheel giving us limited hair and skin color and options so that people could make themselves and their solution only fix the darker skin tones. We don’t know yet what their solution will be. Maybe they will be improving all skin tones , including special attention to the ashiness that many players dislike about the darker tones. Inclusiveness is not oppression."Sim_Architects;c-17612146" wrote:

OK kids, I'm done. I said what I said, and you can have a tantrum about it right on this forum if you'd like.
I am playing The Sims, and enjoying it, and unlike all of you, I don't feel the need to cry about everything I don't have in the game every two seconds or spam the team on Twitter just to get what I want. I just hope that they recognize when it's a legitimate complaint, and when they can put all of you on ignore. Twitter has too much power over things right now, and it's not right for them to constantly treat it like it's the voice of every person who plays this game. That's it.
We all now by now it’s only a one way streets when it comes to this group & the consequences you may face if you don’t give in to their demands
I own all sims 4 packs. That costs nearly $700 and its climbing. Asking them not to ignore people who feel excluded, in a time where they are themselves saying that POC matter and that they will do all they can do include us, is not asking too much.
EA has nothing to lose by honoring its fan base . And the weird thing is , what do you have to lose by POC being listened to?
I also own all packs & been playing since the start. And there has been so many things I wish I could of seen in the game but I don’t go spamming on their posts & twitter page etc and demanding what I want. Instead what I do like some of us simmers is come on here asking kindly & give great constructive ideas here on the forums but yet not be heard. How is that okay in anyway? Why only give in to this group? Because again we all know the consequences & that’s why I don’t think we should be acknowledging & rewarding this kind of behavior. At the end of the day this is a game . You can’t expect any and every game to represent everyone . Are you not going to play a game because the character is already pre made? Especially if it’s the opposite gender of you? This is a simulator I understand that but you can’t expect it to represent everyone especially when there’s just too much diversity in the world & cant expect it to be “perfect”. There are far more important things that I believe they should improve on. I can make the perfect sim that looks like me but yet the personality & emotion/traits is nothing like me. We still have babies as objects. A lot of simmers have been asking for them to do more. But again, no one listens to us because it’s a one way street. & the sad part is the one time we can put clothing on our object babies is behind a paywall on knitting but not added to the base game.- LiELFSeasoned Ace

How come the devs don't listen to what we want when we mention it in the forum?
Because one guru said we on the forum are toxic so our voice don't matter.
Oh my god. No. He said, somewhere in the depths of the internet, on a personal account that had nothing to do with EA or Maxis, that all forums are "trash". He obviously doesn't like forums, period.
Someone dug up the statement and smeared it online for everyone to get offended over. It's not a big deal. Many forums are toxic. That's probably why he never posted here to begin with, as far as I know. I mean, look at how easily people freak out over game stuff and get all riled and offended on here, and this forum is much more tightly moderated than most others. I can't say I blame him.
But he still said it..I don't care if it was on a personal account...it sure as heck don't make me feel good hearing that.
Not to mention the gurus hardly interact with the forums so...
Exactly. And that's why. Look at how you interpreted his statement, by adding, "So our voice don't matter", which is not at all what he said. The same Guru, in fact, interacted a lot with players on Twitter before he changed his job and moved off of Sims 4. And he was always very straightforward with his answers and admitted when they'd made blunders or mistakes, as far as I could tell.
I think the reason the devs interact more on Twitter is because for one, it's one of the most popular social media sites, and also, because there are no walls of text to get through that takes too much time to read. They can scan questions and statements quickly and answer them more promptly.
Anyway, this is getting off topic, my apologies. "LiELF;c-17612246" wrote:

Why does the sims have a forum if they’re hardly going to acknowledge it in the first place? we might as well all be moved to Twitter where we can probably have a better chance of our ideas to be heard. This is their forum that they created & we have many tabs where we can give ideas etc but yet aren’t listened or acknowledged in. I don’t understand that"SelinaKyles;c-17611486" wrote:

The question now is when can we expect the update. Hopefully soon.
She said by fall, so I would say a month or two.
If we're getting a GP in September (as is the current rumor) we could see them in the pre-pack patch. Be prepared for a lot of CC breakage. Might be more likely November since we typically see an EP for the pre-Winterfest sales. :)"Scobre;c-17611542" wrote:

Bummer. I hope that your skin tone gets represented too. :) I do agree even with makeup it can be hard to get a match and feel represented both in the game and outside it.
I'd like to see more makeup shades to coordinate better with skin colors, now that you mention it...
