Okay I'm not sure whether this is just me, or perhaps just an issue with my PC, but I've installed the Sims 2 onto my laptop fine. The issue is the game refuses to play! I click on the desktop icon and my PC attempts to load it up and then stops after 10 seconds or so. This is the same for when I attempt to play it through origin. I have tried changing the compatability settings with the game, as I first thought it may need to be played through an older versions of windows, but still no change! It's so frustrating as I'm dying to get on and play the game!! Any help or advice would be much appreciated! 🙂Just to add to this, the game does not start at all! It's completely unresponsive on my laptop. VERY irriatating! I am desperate to get on to Sims 2 and get nostalgic :P!

click to open the game, get a popup that says "important Message: game requires interenet to Verify ownership of the game, the picture it shows me is of Sims2 Fun with Pets. Can someone help me? i have tried restarting the computer, i have disconnected and reconnected the internet, and i have tired uninstalling and reinstalling the game. please help ☹️

Had this problem, but it was solved in a few steps.I had to change the compatibility (more of, just specify to it what system it was running on)and instead of opening normally, I had to right click and press "run as administrator" on the shortcut.The wait was still around 5 minutes once I got to the "sims 2 fun with pets" screen, but it loaded and i've been playing fine for a while now =)

same exact problem.get the loading courser then it just gives up.no load screen, no intro, no EA screen no nothing not even an error message it just gives up with out ever leaving the desktop.even did the compatibility settings and start as admin with absolutely no results at all

This worked for me, up until my game started crashing while in creating a family.The loading screens were still very slow (about 5-10 minutes to load).I exited the game and went back to:C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin- Create a desktop shortcut.- Right click, and go to properties.- On the "Target" line at the end of ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin\Sims2EP9.exe" - Add -xIt should look like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin\Sims2EP9.exe" -wThis will run the game in windowed mode. This fixed all my problems. (I'm not computer savvy, nor do I know ANYTHING about changing stuff in properties. My boyfriend told me to do this, and I followed his directions. If this doesn't work for you, I can't help you any further. ☹️ )

i have the same problem, i downloaded and installed it fine, when i try playing it, it freezes at the title screen and plays that annoying tune, i tried letting it load but after an hour of waiting it was still the same.

just sent an error report to origin, see what they come back with. i will let you know what they say.

Same problem here, the game loaded, I got the EA logo and sound effect, and then it just froze there. I could still move the cursor but nothing else was happening.

This is happening to me too! If anyone has any answers to this, please let me know. I know my computer is up to date, i have more than enough space on my computer for this game. Please, i just wanna play the game!
