Sims Medieval Disc Version not launching on Windows 11 Intel Raptor Lake
I know it seems like a relic of the past, but I have an ancient disc copy of Sims Medieval plus Pirates and Nobles that I haven't been able to get to work now that I have a new computer.
I'm aware of the issue that prevents the game from running on 12 generation processors, but having tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling
Setting the affinity of the launcher process in task manager to cpu 1 and separately cpu 0.. Each time, tsm.exe shows up as running on cpu 05. Occasionally, I can catch it starting on 4. I have no idea if that's relevant.
Running the recommended powershell script
And even using the fan made alder lake patcher on tsm.exe
I don't know if that's the same issue or a more advanced one from running a 13th generation intel processor.
Running the game just seems to close the launcher in all cases with tsm.exe running on 18.7ish megabytes of ram in the background, except in the last case where tsm.exe just doesn't seem to show up at all in the task manager.
I've uploaded the dxdiag since that appears to be standard policy
