Sims Medieval does not work

I have had origin for like 3 years. A few months ago I bought the Sims Medieval directly from origin. I do not have the disk game or a redeemable code, I bought it directly from origin and I cannot play it. It won’t open. I download it, try to open it and it says something along the lines of “error; missing DLL files” or something like that.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing the cache, repairing it, repairing origin, as well as many other tips on the internet and nothing has worked thus far.
Also I’ve noticed that my electronic arts folder in my documents does not have a sims medieval folder. The Sims Medieval is in my origin games folder in program files, but it is not in the EA folder. I have no idea how to fix that. I think origin is not installing it properly?
I’m thinking of purchasing a disk version so I have some questions about the disk if no one can help me fix my current situation.

Disk Questions:

Does the disk download the game separately from Origin? If that’s the case I feel like it might work

Has anyone had issues with the disk not working?
Is the disk connected to Origin at all? I feel like origin might be the issue itself

Any other disk information is appreciated

That’s all. Thank you if you have any advice or help!

If possible, list the exact error you get; if it mentions missing files, please note down which files those are and let me know.

The Sims Medieval folder in Documents\Electronic Arts is created when the game launches. Since your game hasn't been able to launch, there is no folder yet.

Although the disk version is not connected to Origin, it will not work on Windows 10/11 as they do not support copy protection that Medieval uses.

  • Here is the error when opening the game from origin and when opening the game directly from the SM folder in origin games

  • @mate54 Yes, the base game install error from the pictures I sent is what happened when I tried to open it there

@AceNeedsSpace , are you trying to launch the game from Origin or EA Play? Just checking as I do not think EA Play supports Sims Medieval.
