The Creator Network and Re-release
I've been watching the usual members (not naming names) of the CN and here's something I have noticed something that makes me think and makes me sad/angry. They were all successfully playing on Day 1 when all of us regulars were trying to get it to run. I'm getting the impression that while they may be using the re-release of Sims 1, (some of them were not born or babies when 1 came out) which is turning out to be more stable than 2, they're probably using The Sims 2 Complete Collection which you could get a few years ago but you can't get anymore. So they are not having the same issues we are, or if they are, they're not talking about it. I see it as misleading. EA uses the network as (almost) free advertising and hype and we get so caught up in watching them that we forget when their streams are over, our games don't run. Does anyone else get that impression or is it just me? I'm quite sure this post won't last because the CN is sacred to EA but I just have this eerie feeling that this was sort of a set up so we would buy and actually think we could play but we can't at all, or if we're lucky (and I mean really lucky) the workarounds may work but we will all be playing in fear of a crash in the middle of playing. Not sure if I want to put my brand-new system through a bunch of rounds of crashing. Can anyone confirm that all of the more popular members on the CN are actually using the re-releases? Did EA stipulate that they had to use it when making content about it. I'd love for a member of the CN to address issues and maybe walk us through workarounds, so we don't have to keep writing in the forums every couple of hours.
