the sims 2 direct x 9.0c

okay so I just got the sims 2 and I am told I do not have directX 9.0c but went to microsoft and downloaded it and it said I had the same verion or newer version already instealled. I have direct x 11 on my graphics card. I can't seem to find the application to run the sims 2 in compatibilty mode in the origin games, the sims 2 section of my PC. I have repaired game and updated game but to no luck.

windows 7 64-bit home premium OS
8GB RAM
1GB nvidia geforce gtx 550 TI graphics card.
amd 8 core processor at 2.8ghz a core.

can anyone hlp me get the game working please?

this is the only message that appears  to me when I try to play the game:

" The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff

Failed to find any Directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate"

again please and thank you for any and all help.

I fixed the problem! Try to put your the sims on the windowed mode!

"The only thing you have to do is add a -w at the end of your normal shortcut.
Right-click on the game icon and select properties.
    * At the very end of the Target path (after the "), put in a space then -w and click OK.
    * If you want to have 2 separate icons (one for windowed mode, and one for regular), then just right-click on the game icon, select copy, then right-click again anywhere else on your desktop, select paste, and rename your shortcut and update the path accordingly. "

    I catch this from yahoo!
