Please help!!
So I just returned from a vacation with my sim and ever since she doesn't get any NEW memories. The old ones are still there but when I do stuff that I know will leave a new memory (like meeting someone for the first time or eating a grilled cheese) no new memory appear :(
I'm having the same exact problem and it all started when a sim went on vacation in another neighborhood. now no sims in any neighborhoods can make any memories at all.
For me it's just the one sim (Don Lothario) so far, and he just went downtown, not to vacation. I played the Goths too and they made memories, and actually even Don made a memory (meeting Alexander) while I was playing them. But then I went back to Don and no new memories.
Edit: Actually, I don't think it's connected to travelling at all in my case, he went to downtown on a date then took her home, Nina was there and so the whole cheating situation popped a bunch of memories, then even had the memory of having a great date (despite all that, haha), and then meeting a new person, the pizza girl. Then no new memories until he met Alexander while I was playing the Goths.
I'm having this same issue as well. Took Don on vacation, and then the lot glitched and wouldn't load, had to delete the world to get him back, and now no new memories. Been searching for a fix - but no luck so far!
All right, so for my case with Don specifically, it turns out the issue was the telescope on his roof. Maybe it's supposed to have a scripted abduction or something, I'm not sure, I had never played Pleasantview before. But the telescope is definitely corrupted somehow, as soon as he uses it he resets and then starts having all kinds of glitches, including the missing memories (and lot loading issues too, so this might be the cause for the other person here who had problems with Don). After the Feb. 4. patch I completely reinstalled the game (resetting Pleasantview wasn't enough) and started with deleting his telescope when first loading his lot. Played over 2 sim weeks with no glitches and all memories. :)
Since abductions are fixed in the Feb. 6. patch, it might be worth trying a clean Pleasantview and using the telescope, but I'm not even sure that's the problem since I haven't heard of a scripted abduction for him even though Vincund's is common knowledge. So maybe the telescope is bad for another reason...? Bella was supposed to have been abducted from there so maybe it's to do with that... In any case, I'm not too keen on an alien plotline for Don and don't want to lose his progress now so I won't be testing any more.
