Why Project X MUST be a TS4 Engine Upgrade and Multiplayer

Dear @TheSims / @EA,

The community is talking about Project X and we have a very clear vision of what we want: We dont want a Sims 5 that forces us to leave 11 years of collections and memories behind. We want an evolution, not a reset!

The Engine Upgrade: Give us the Project X visuals and performance as a massive technical update for The Sims 4. Fix the old spaghetti code and let us play our favorite game with modern graphics and open neighborhoods!

Multiplayer Integration: This is the game-changer! Imagine building and living together with friends in the same world we have spent years creating. This would make The Sims the ultimate social simulation.

Respect our Investment: We love our DLCs and our Sims. Dont make us start from zero. Upgrade the base, add the multiplayer, and you will have the most loyal fanbase forever.

This is the only way to compete with upcoming rivals! Lets make the future of Sims together. Who is with me?

Again, including any multi-player aspects whatsoever, even just optional means I will never purchase it. Including multi-player means they choose to take resources away from making a great single-player game.

If you look into the history of Sims 4, you would know it was rumored to originally going to be an online game with multi-player functionality. That was scraped when the last Sims City game tanked due to the required online functionality of that game. What we then recieved was Sims 4, where all the Sims act the same due to emotional states. I also believe that was why many animations are constantly reused.

"Thanks for the discussion! To be clear: I don't want a forced online game either. What I'm dreaming of is an optional integrated access.

For me, the Holy Grail would be a massive technical Engine Upgrade for The Sims 4. Imagine the game with the better, more detailed visuals of Project X (better lighting, textures, and Sims) but keeping all our content.

If EA combines this visual upgrade with an optional co-op mode—where you play solo by default but can invite a friend if you choose to—it would be the best thing ever. It's about modernizing the game we love without losing our progress!"

  • If the project x has any multi-player aspects whatsoever it means I will not ever buy it. The franchise is and only ever will be a single player game. I have ZERO interest in ALL multi-player games especially if they are online multi-player games. Including any multi-player aspects usually means the resources were taken away from making a great single-player core game, at least that has been what has been proven to me.

Why? I totally understand your concern! I don't want a "multiplayer-only" game either. What I mean is an optional co-op mode or integrated access. You should be able to play 100% alone if you want to. But for those who want to build a house together with a friend or visit a partner's world, there should be an option to invite them. It’s all about having the choice, not forcing everyone to be online!
