22nd of January 2024 – TSFP – ‘Art Nouveau’ Update
Sul Sul! Welcome to ‘Art Nouveau’ the latest update of The Sims™ FreePlay.
This update’s central theme is romance and celebrating love. With Valentine’s Day approaching, the team want to ensure your Sims get the best V-Day date possible! Only what they deserve! From items that help you spice up the vibe in your casa, to new actions such as ‘Write a Love Letter’ and ‘Romance by the Fire’, they've got your Sims covered.
With this update, significant changes are being rolled out to the way players level up within the game.
Firstly, to make sure everyone can engage with the new level-up system, new levels are being added to the game. The level cap will be increased from the current level 55 to level 60. Along with traditional level-up rewards, these new levels also offer significant additional rewards to players.
The breakdown of these additional rewards is as follows:
Level 56:
A new house template "Achiever's Abode"
Level 57:
+1 Sims living in houses.
Level 58:
+1 Sims allowed on Lots.
Level 59:
+1 Sims living in houses.
Level 60
+2 to your Sim Cap.
+1 Sims allowed on Lots.
With this update, earning levels will take more than just XP. New level-up requirements are being added, which are satisfied as you continue to develop your town.
These requirements are designed to complete as you naturally grow your town, finish quests, and develop new areas.
Players will have a maximum of 5 Requirements at any one time, however not all will appear as they may not be relevant at that level.
The first 3 requirements will consist of:
- Earn XP
- Add a Sim (Will not show if the player is at their town Sim Cap)
- Construct a Building (Will not show if the player has built all buildings excluding Life Orb buildings)
The next 2 requirements focus on completing unlocked content throughout the game. The main Progression Quests will be asked to be completed, starting with the quest the player is currently on. Discovery and Feature Quests are less linear, and completing any will satisfy the requirement.
After completing these, they will be replaced with other requirements such as:
- Progressing a Development Site, a new blanket term that encompasses any Downtown Developer, Sim Springs, or Super Yacht.
- Completing areas in improvable community lots (eg The Simtown Mall)
- Increasing your Neighbourhood Rank in Sim Springs (if this is unlocked and not completed)
If there aren't any available quests or features, you will be asked to finish other content such as careers, hobbies & professions.
Finally, for players that have completed everything Sims FreePlay currently has to offer, new levels will just require earning XP.
New requirements will be added as new content gets released.
Overall, level requirements are made to provide a high level of player choice whilst also helping to provide focus on available content to complete.
Players can see their requirements by tapping on their level icon, giving a breakdown of what's needed, and where to find them.
