Ads not exiting after watched

When I get a video for whatever reason like the guy coming to your doorstep to have you watch videos, the video won’t exit during or after the video, I press the x in the top right corner but nothing happens so I have to restart my game. Please help as watching ads in this game is a big part of making similoneans
