Feedback: Events and Professions Are Becoming Too Grind-Heavy

I’ve been playing The Sims FreePlay for a while, and I wanted to give some constructive feedback about a few systems that are starting to make the game feel more exhausting than fun.

Crafting events require too much. Some prizes require thousands of resources, while individual crafting sessions only produce a few hundred. I don’t mind having to work toward prizes, but completing an event shouldn’t require checking the game constantly throughout the day just to keep crafting.

The balance between free and paid event rewards also feels increasingly unfair. The current medieval event is a good example. You can complete tasks and earn things like wallpaper, siding, LP or SP, while many of the exciting furniture, architectural pieces and outfits that fit the theme, and are the most exciting, require real money.

I understand that FreePlay is a free-to-play game and needs paid content. I’m not asking for everything to be free. But I think more of the most desirable themed items should be earnable through actually playing the event, with paid packs offering additional or bonus content. Spending money should feel like an optional way to get more—not like the only way to get the best parts of an event.

Profession upgrades are another area that feels excessively grindy. A single workstation or room can require hundreds of resources to upgrade, while helping a customer may only give you a few. That doesn’t really add difficulty; it just requires repeating the same actions over and over for an enormous amount of time.

I think all three systems could be improved by reducing resource requirements, increasing the amount players earn, giving events more time, and/or making more desirable event rewards obtainable through gameplay.

The question I wish the developers would consider when balancing these systems is:

Can a normal player with a job, school, family, hobbies, or other responsibilities reasonably earn these rewards without spending money or structuring their day around The Sims FreePlay?

I don't feel as though that answer could possibly be "yes". I think the requirements are too high, and the game could use some restructuring.

I genuinely enjoy FreePlay, which is why I’m writing this. I want events and professions to give me reasons to come back to the game—not make me feel like I need to play day in and day out just to make meaningful progress.
