I have got two sims married and got a baby crib but when I press the 'add baby' button it says the baby needs a family although I have already moved two sims in together.

Okay, I was playing around with it and decided to divorce them... Got the divorce and still had screwed up status. At that point I decided to delete the female ( since the male was further progresses in his job) and created a new character. They have been romantic and seem to be progressing normaly. I will keep you posted, probably not the fix you wanted but its better than a total reset.
Where you by chance switching back n forth between a friends neighborhood and your own? So far I have not visited the party boat while in the middle of two sims being being romantic. So far so good, I'll keep you posted

I moved in my sims before getting them engaged then I proposed & they were engaged. Now I got the engaged bar up all the way, but only one sim has the option to get married. I hit get married & now only the girl sim(the one who had the option) says they're married but the guy sim still has the engaged bar & no option of getting married. How can I fix this? If both of them aren't married I can't have a baby.

I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner. Go to your wardrobe and there is a red delete button in the left corner.

This thread was created over the same issue. Mismatched status bars on the sims cause an issue with having a baby. I'm assuming the game needs both to be married. I haven't found a perfect fix but my solution is on page 1! Until they fix this issue it's the only option I've found. If you find another fix let us know though.
