What we can do is tell you that even if it looks like furniture it might be a decoration, outdoor furniture, outdoor decoration, pre-teen or teen specific. It may also be uncategorised so if you filter on what you think it could be it will not show unless you scroll through the whole inventory without any filters applied. It might show in the shop but not in your inventory or vice versa (it's buggy like that). Since you chose not to say which event you completed, we have no way of giving you more precise directions (which category/filter) as we do not know what items it was
