No rewards garden patch sims freeplay
If I leave my sims growing beans overnight, in the morning not all of them have plants. They all jump like they've done it but they don't all have beans to click on for money.

the gardening patch needs to stop flashing blue and your sims need to be on their knees BEFORE you leave that lot/house, otherwise what you describe might happen
do NOT leave the lot (switch to another sim else where, go to townmap) before your sims have reached the growing plot and it has stopped flashing blue light
