Progression Quests are Bad

Is there anyway to avoid the child related progression quests? I hate that you’re forced to do them and that you can’t level up without a progression quest, but there’s been no options other than following the child path. I was hoping in this version the gameplay would allow for multiple paths vs forcing everyone down the parenting path. I really don’t want to delete a functional and working sim to replace it with some ugly mushy toddler. 

I’d rather delete the game than have a stupid baby.
