When you try to have an adult or senior try the step, could you please get a screenshot of any errors and post it here? I'd like to see what you're seeing for the step.

unfortunately this website isn't letting me upload a picture because the file's too large. but i click on the tree and it doesn't give me any options. it just gives me the 🚫 symbol above my sims head. ive tried it with my adult and senior sims

Without being able to look at the screenshot to be sure, it sounds like there's a possibility that they can't access the tree. Normally there would be blue footprints showing this, but I want to see if we can narrow this down, starting with checking accessibility. Is the tree in a location where it can be accessed from all sides?

yes, i've tried putting a tree in an empty lot and still doesn't work :/
