Sims Freeplay - worth it?

I enjoyed it when I played it and still have it on my iPad, but I haven't really played it in more than a year or two. The time limited challenges were frustrating because I was never able to complete them since I was working a lot and it felt unfair to have some objects as limited or special reward objects unlocked through time limited quests. I'm used to the main Sims game where everyone gets access to the same new stuff. I'm not sure if that has changed though. And I generally spent too much on that online store too. I did really enjoy it though so I think it is worth checking out for sure.

Can you transfer your mobile account to the PC version though? I didn't know there was a PC version.
