the booths at the restaurant have always ben buggy if I recall correctly
Sometimes they work other times no
It is possible that the construction influence the situation but I honestly don't remember

Support as in the support in the game which gives automated responses ? I’m also having this issue in the mall where as I can’t sit a sim to “share a milkshake” including 2 sims. I think as well with one sim having one milkshake.
There is a chat
it is slow, semi automated but you can get a person to answer you eventually
