"Sims Freeplay Ski lift key goal - not working

Hello...if anyone reads this..

I finally got a sim to achieve all 12 of the skating medals, and the screen shows that he also got the ski lift key...but I still can not complete the snowboarding goal!  When I try to use the snow boards or toboggans, it still says the same old thing about needing to unlock the ski lift by finding the key...which I have done.

I tried it with the skater sim and also another one in case that was the problem, no luck.  I did close the app and restart it still the same.  it says I have the key, and that I need to find the key.

Horribly frustrating, as is getting any kind of help for this game since firemonkeys died.  If anyone knows what to do to get this goal done please help.  I am doing the skating etc. at a neighbor's snow park as required, can not figure this out.  Thanks...

ps perhaps i should add i am playing on an android phone.
