sim's house location, recommendations, and a few questions?

I love the Sim's Free play, but am having a few minor difficulties.  

1. House location: I had 2 sims that had 2 babies.  I later did not have enough yellow coins to have the mom sim get a full makeover, and I later learned that if you clicked the sim that a red cross out button that the sim would leave the town, so she left the town, and somehow the 1 baby stayed at 1 of the other family's house and later got the family's last name, and when they had their own 2 babies the baby that was staying there became the brother to them, but not a son to the parents.

Eventually I brought the real dad to the house and when I was going to have him pick his son up, it still was saying that the baby was his son, but when I had him come to pick up his "other 2 siblings," they said he was not the father.  I am not complaining but am just very confused.

Whenever I take the baby sim to the park with the real dad and the real sibling it's fine until I hit the "home button"for them to return to their home - the baby still goes to the other home - the home of the other family he was staying at.

I later thought that if I got rid of the parent sims that the baby sim was staying at, that the house he was staying at would no longer considered his home, but I was wrong. Apparently the app allows babies to stay and live on their own without a parent or guardian.  Now the 2 babies and the baby are staying at the real dad of the baby's house, but I am still having a lot of problems if the babies leave the house to go somewhere such as the park because of the going home situation.

I also have one recommendation- that not just one person but the whole family can go for a car ride, and not just to earn sim money, but to go to, school and the pool place and community center.

I am also having one other trouble: I am on level 24 and would really like to do two things, to do more quests:

1) make babies into toddlers and

2) make toddlers into teens...

because I thought you could do that at level 12.
