Unable to Plant Simoleon Plant in Garden Patch After Update

I just updated and came back to the game after about a year hiatus and noticed the same thing…I’m trying to verify if this is part of the update (a way to force us to pay/cheat for more simoleons) or an actual bug/glitch…??

It’s part of the update. You can now use capsules instead of the simoleon spin plant.
 The first reply on this topic includes screenshots.
