Moola prices

Hi,

For example in the case if a kit cost 500 Moola

  • Overpriced level
    • $2.49 USD for 200 Moola : Paid 3 times = $7.47 spent to get a $4.99 kit + 100 Moola left (50% more expensive)
  • Standard level
    • $4.99 USD for 500 Moola : $4.99 kit
    • $9.99 USD for 1,000 Moola : $9.99 Stuff Pack (but $0.01 wasted if you take 2 kits)
  • Discount level
    • $24.99 USD for 2,600 Moola : 5 kits + 100 Moola left. Paid 5 times = 25 kits + 1 kit (for free) (4% off, $5 discount for $125 spent)
    • $49.99 USD for 5,500 Moola : 11 kits for the price of 10 (9% off, $5 discount for $50 spent)

TS3 Store had (for example Hidden Springs world is at 2000 SimPoints)  :

  • $10 for 1000 SimPoints : literally $10 of content
  • $20 for 2040 SimPoints
  • $40 for 5000 SimPoints : $50 (20% off, $10 discount)
  • $80 for 10600 SimPoints : $106 (25% off, $26 discount)
  • $160 for 24360 SimPoints : $244 (34% off, $84 discount)

Right now Moola feels more expensive than SimPoints in particular if the content cost 1000 Moola.

  • This is considered an Unfair Commercial Practice in the EU. It should be across the globe, honestly. Perhaps The Sims should rethink this formula and appear a bit more... honest?

EDIT: Since the post was moved into this, I should add it's about virtual currency leftovers.

Digital Fairness Act will be the law that can stop it but it won't be before 2030.

    Point A)

    Point B)

Point A and B cost 500 Moolas—how is that even okay?

This only makes the already bad reputation of the marketplace worse. I’m not a hater; I survived the The Sims 3 Store era, and I get that devs need to eat. I’m fine with paid content. But why would the team managing the marketplace allow such low-quality content at such a high price?

    My feedback:

The number of items should determine the price in Moolas.

A 200 Moolas Kit should have around 3–8 items.

    A 400 Moolas Kit, around 12–20 items.

A 500 Moolas Kit, ~25 items, like what we’re used to with Maxis Kits.

Set clearer standards for creators and make sure the content actually matches the price. Thanks for reading.

  • I see this whole thing as unfair across board for everyone but EA.

EA said they are taking on the expenses to run this thing plus the ads/promotions and to check for quality, etc. Yet, this was not something we nor the creators were asking for. This was something EA came up with all by themselves. So, to rake in the profits of 70% for what the Creator's made entirely themselves is not balanced.

Plus, EA did say that it is the Creator's who are charging what we see. EA will ensure it is within reason, but to me it is not within reason when you see  what Member: franeslas | EA Forums  pointed out about two different creator's asking for the same amount of MOOLA with the amount of content offered being far less for one than the other and the quality is not there either to make it even somewhat "justifiable".

I can see where creators may feel inspired to charge more to make up for the amount of time and effort they put into it with EA taking 70% of the profits off the top, but it leaves it unfair to us players and equates to many of us not wanting any of this.

In honesty, I could see this a being a really cool idea... but it was executed poorly. I can see how this can really be a feather in one's cap for creators to make some extra money and gain some further recognition for their work and capabilities. I can see where this can even benefit EA if they for one... would back these creations. As it stands now, EA said they are NOT responsible for the content once it is released for purchase. They should not use MOOLA, but go back to using currency, as this many of us find would be far more fair and user friendly across all currency being used.  And lastly it feels our games are all wrapped up in this MarketPlace and not something separate. To include the EA Kits into this and plus to be able to see what packs/kits we purchased we now have to go through the Market Place to see them... NO! This should not be how it works. Even though we had access in our game for the Sims 3 to get to the Sims store for purchasing things. It was not anywhere as evasive or "In Your Face" with it. This all feels so forced and cash-greedy to many of us. To leave this marketplace to exist as is... I see will be a sinking ship.

I have the items in your point B, but I bought it as a regular kit when I had $5 to blow. I am not in any way interested in the marketplace. I just don't like the idea of it at all. And I feel bad for the creators who thought this was going to be a cool thing to get into.

Add in how many Simmers are unhappy about the Saudi/Kushner sale who've said they'll no longer buy anything once it goes through, and I agree this is a sinking ship.

I've been playing Sims since 2000, and really before that with SimCity when I was a kid. It's really sad to see the franchise dying.

Yeah, as soon as it rolled out, I told my husband "I guess that's it." I feel bad for the creators, but I refuse to use the marketplace.

That was the only reason I didn't balk at using the Sims 3 store. I would buy Simpoints when I had a few bucks to blow, then I would earn free ones to top them off so I could buy things. But, honestly, I'm so unhappy with everything that's going on now at EA that even if they offered that sort of thing again, they've already lost me. I won't even look at the marketplace.

  • Not supporting this at all and I am boycotting updating till its removed or until I can afford the other game
