Yes - it does actually get in the way - I was just at a party with a second floor and it was terribly confusing - you keep seeing the upper floor when you are downstairs and your sim keep moving around without you doing anything - it made me happy that I haven't tried to build a second floor and I am definitely not going to either.

I agree that the multiple levels do get confusing especially at a party when trying to follow the action bubbles around & they look like they’re coming through the floor.
But, of course, I had to jump in and build up,
(I’m such a sheeple)
I’m keeping the top floor very simply furnished & will probably use it as a playroom & just a place for my Sims to enjoy the waterfront views.
Actually, I hope rooftop decks will turn up in the future 😂

The same thing happened when you had more than one house on the same lot.
All the furniture in the 2nd house would become event actions.
Now you have everyone partying in grandma's cottage. 😣
Like katclawsx3, I wanted a 2nd level, especially to separate my 2 families. I have to be careful about the furniture I place upstairs.
I do not like the fact that I do not see the Sims climbing the stairs. Is it me?

Hey, here's an idea for the next STS: child safety! Prizes include safety gates, toilet locks, outlet covers, play pens, and for goodness sake something to keep them from falling off the cliff at the back of the property! Chain link fence maybe?- 6 years ago
I wonder how long before a new Sweet Treat Shakedown Spiral Staircases become a Grand Prize that will cost thousands of SimCash, simmoleans, LZ tickets & probably your firstborn?
It will take 1-1/2 months to complete the STS & another 7 days waiting on City Permits while you must wait an additional 18 hours for it to be installed.
By that time it will be 2021 & you’ll be completely broke. And you still won’t see any Sims on it 🙄😂
True Story 🤣
