Ads not playing in STS & all over town

Product: The Sims Mobile
Platform:Android Phone
List the specific devices you play with (e.g. iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7) Samsung A12
OS Version Android 11
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the Sweet Treat Showdown bake-off and when cloche on knife block is tapped it gives the message "Video Playback Error. Sorry, this video could not be played. This still happened after re-starting device & clearing cache. Also this happens when I try to play the ads all over the town.
What do you expect to see? Ads should play & give me the rewards when I tap the knife block during STS and/or play ad for rewards all over the town.

This is the first time I've encountered this bug when I try to play ads during STS and also try to play for rewards thru ads all over the lots in the Sims Mobile town.

I get the error message "Video Playback Error" Sorry this video could not be played. 

I already cleared the cache and powercycled my device. Still, ads don't play & I can't get rewards. ☹️

Hope this gets fixed.

  • Ok so it seems this error is now fixed in my game thank goodness! 

    Not sure if support team did something to fix it. 

    But I did something to my device. I noticed that the ad showing (black screen then the error message appears) has like a ? Symbol so I checked that & I saw an advisory regarding TapJoy. So I researched that & found out how I can opt out since TapJoy seems to be a third party ad company used by mobile games. One of the  things I learned was how to reset the advertising ID of your device & I did it just to test if the ads will work on my game.

    Fortunately, it seems after the reset, the ads are now working both in STS & around town.

    Hope this doesn't happen again.
