EA StaffSorry to hear your game freezes during parties! Can you give you me your player ID so I can take a closer look at this. This page explains how to find this id: https://help.ea.com/help/the-sims/the-sims-mobile/find-your-player-id-in-the-sims-mobile, it has 13 numbers.
Do you remember what type of party your friend was hosting?
My Player ID is 1003004455560.
I was able to attend a few more parties successfully since my original message, but I’m currently locking up while attending a mutual contact’s Concert Party at 11:32 EST. It’s definitely not a “party full” problem—this party only has six attendees including myself.

Thanks all for the reports! Do you notice if this happens when the other lot is very large, for example all land unlocked and a lot of objects in the house?
@SimGuruMaaike The parties I've been to are at the item limit. Some have unlocked all the land, some have more than half unlocked.
