Crash @ Startup out of nowhere

I am a Level 40 player, and I’ve been playing since the launch in the US. I’ve spent a good amount of time and money in this game so far. I’ve never had any major issues up until today, just a few hours ago... A couple nights ago my game was working just fine, I sent my sims to work as usual for my nightly sleep routine. I had just finished my quest earlier in the day for the new Internet sensation hobby. Yesterday (and today) I get online and my game crashes at startup. This was the first time this ever happened to me since I first downloaded the game. I try to startup again a few more times, same thing but with a black screen right before crashing.

I looked online and followed EA’s help, cleared my Safari cache, cleared out all BG apps, restarted my WiFi connection, tried playing outside and using my phone’s data, even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The game does load and download everything just fine, up until I try to restore my previous game. When that happens it just crashes mid-restore and doesn’t complete.

Soon after so many failed attempts at running the game, I tried wiping and restarting my iPhone and restored a version of my iCloud from a few days ago, hoping that would help, since it was a date before the game started crashing... After I finished restoring everything on my phone, the game downloads and I try to restore my previous Level 40 game is the cloud. Same thing happens, my screen briefly blacks out and then closes the app to my home screen.

I’m really frustrated and need some help!
  • Sounds like something isn't right with your back up file. Best thing would be to contact an EA game advisor about this issue.

You can do so through The Sims Mobile app. Open the side menu, choose the gear icon, then the button with 'Help'.
This will open your browser, scroll down until you see 'Contact Us' and choose 'Technical Support'.

If this fails for some reason, or you can't access The Sims Mobile app.

You can contact EA through this link: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/
