DJ Career Won't Advance

I have this happening with several of my characters that I’m now considering just retiring because I can’t get their careers to advance/finish same as you and nothing has worked. I even switched careers and went back to the stuck ones and they stay that way. I stopped playing after I spent so much money because I was so frustrated cuz now it’s 3 of my sims that can’t finish storylines….so what’s the point now?! 

Nope, I’ve done that…you can still work shifts but your progress stays stuck, it won’t lvl. I’ve also tried waiting a whole day, restarting, changing careers and going back, nothing works and now all that time and money spent to lvl 10 my storylines with my sims was a waste and all I can do is retire and try new sims so I did and guess what?! Now she’s stuck too. I’m over it. Reinstalling will just cause me to lose all that money, I’d rather have it sit and rot. I’m so sad!

The issue is still persisting 2 years later (based on these forum comments). An additional bug that affected this career level up was that the game registered one of the completed “Quick Shifts” as “Playful Podiatry” instead. Two “Quick Shifts” following that big/glitch didn’t solve the issue either.
