[Event] Event randomly changes after closing the app

Try force closing the app when you have no Sims in an event. You could also just restart your phone. I've read where someone had to do that a couple of times for the issue to get resolved. But it might be worth a try. 

My Sim seems to be a workaholic. I start him off in a friendship event and when I come back he has finished a standard work event, Sometimes the  event has finished when I’ve only been out of the game for 5 minutes. This is doing wonders for his career progression but is ruining his personal relationships!

Just restarting my tablet didn't work for me today.  
None of my sims were busy. Then I forced close the app, deleted cached files and restarted my device. I had to do this three times until all shifts were available again.

I’m experiencing this issue as well. At one point I had to call EA to fix my game. Any time I am doing a timed special event, and I close the app, it is likely that when I open it, my sim will have “completed” a different event. I have to restart my phone, sometimes 3 times, in order to see that my sim is still in the event that they should be doing.

Im already invested but normally I would not keep a game that has me rebooting my phone several times a day. It also concerns me that these are TIMED quests and unless I am actively making sure that I keep the game on the right event, I could lose sight of my rewards like I did with harvest fest.

I experienced all the recent issues with random events and inability to complete the latest quest.  I followed the instructions and closed the app when no one was in any activity.  I did this maybe 10 times in a row - and each time a random event completed (with sim coins and progress...)  until finally it completed the "stuck" harvest events a week after the event closed.  After doing this repeatedly (which is sorta crazy but I did it anyway) - things appear back to normal in terms of being able to complete a range of tasks for the sims (quick/standard/long) events that were not available until i completed this process.

Had this issue during the Harvest event. Seemed to be resolved when it ended, but has started again with the Winter update.

I'm also having this issue and it is prohibiting my sim from moving forward in her guitar hobby story. I'd like to move on to the next chapter, but it's greyed out and says that she's "already in the event." When I make her do a long practice session before I go to sleep, I log back in the next day and she's completed a relationship or career shift. That's not what I want.

Same thing is happening to me. It's constantly jumping back and forth between events. 

I put my Sim into the Movies in the Park event. Came back, she was doing stuff elsewhere. A work shift from before. I finished the shift out, had her do something else. Exited. Came back, she finished Movies in the Park. Weirdest thing is that it says they're doing something else but shows them where you had them. So she finished in the park but got payout for a quick work shift. 

It makes Zoom tasks impossible unless you literally play nonstop without exiting the app. 

Certain length of tasks are unavailable and I believe that is because the app knows the Sim is already supposed to be currently IN THAT EVENT. Ergo it not being available.

Don't get me started on the super random nudity. 

Hey all, can you let us know if you see this happen again? We’ve fixed an issue with the game servers that caused this issue. If you do see it happen again, please let us know your player ID and the time it happened. 

It may be possible that your game is still in a bad state from before our fix went live. If it is, please restart your game and collect any events that are ready to collect – you may have to do this a few times.

Yes!  I can’t complete the baby quest because it’s been doing this to me, extremely frustrating!!!!!
